The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on July 16, 2017 when a citizen reported a suspicious person sleeping in a car next to a building off the Osceola Square. A check of the vehicle, a gold 1997 Ford Taurus, was confirmed stolen out of Springfield. Contact was made and the occupant of the stolen vehicle was identified as LaRue, a homeless male from Springfield.
