News Release for May 5-12, 2014

 

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a variety of calls for service during the week of May 5-12. Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made two warrant arrests, took reports of property damage, stealing, burglary and a dog being shot in Roscoe.

Property damage and stealing reported in Twin Oaks Harbor

On May 10, a deputy took a stealing and property damage report from a residence inside Twin Oaks Harbor, Lowry City. Johnny Maddox reported the propane tank on his pop up camper was stolen and the hose connecting the tank to the camper was cut. A request for prosecution was signed and the investigation is ongoing.

Burglary in Lowry City

On May 10, a deputy took a burglary report from a residence on East Seventh Street, Lowry City. Phyllis Manuel reported a door to an outbuilding was pried open and a small white refrigerator and several cases of soda were missing from the building. Damage to a lock was also reported. The value of the items missing and damaged was estimated at $224.36. Later the same day, Manuel advised while she was mowing, she found some of the soda in a corner of her property near a fence. The investigation is ongoing.

ATV and firearms reported stolen near Collins

On Tuesday, May 6, a deputy took a burglary report on SE 700 Road near Collins. Michael Young reported an ATV was stolen from a metal building and two firearms were stolen from a camping trailer. The ATV was described as a green 2006 Polaris 500cc and the firearms were described as a Sears 12-gauge single shot shotgun with a two cell flashlight attached to the barrel and a Howe .22 bolt action rifle with peep sights. Young also reported damage to a door of a house located on the property. A request for prosecution was signed and the investigation is ongoing.

Report of dog being shot in Roscoe

On Tuesday, May 6, a deputy took a report concerning a dog being shot in Roscoe. Toni Starnes reported her blue/grey Pit Bull mixed breed dog went missing after a storm on April 27. She stated notice of the missing dog was placed on posters, Facebook and by word of mouth. On May 3, the dog was found dead in Coon Creek. Starnes said the dog appeared to have been recently shot. A request for prosecution was signed and the investigation is ongoing.

Warrant arrests

On May 8, Shaun Roderick, 33, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Henry County felony warrant charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance.
The warrant was issued on March 25. Roderick was transported to the Henry County line and turned over to a Henry County deputy.

Angelena Howell

On May 7, Angelena Howell, 42, Pleasanton, Kan. was arrested at the St. Clair County Courthouse on a Bates County warrant charging her with failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor passing a bad check-less than $500. The warrant was issued in November 2009. She was booked into the St. Clair County Jail. Bond was set at $2,500 surety or 10-percent cash.

Felony arrest warrants issued

On Wednesday, May 7, a St. Clair County felony arrest warrant was issued for Rodney Ryans, 25, Walker, charging him with class D felony non-support, total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

On Monday, May 5, a St. Clair County felony arrest warrant was issued for Christian Stoneking, 21, Weaubleau, for failing to appear in court on a class C felony of burglary-second degree. The charge stemmed from an incident in September 2010.
Stoneking pled guilty to the charge in December 2010. The imposition of sentence was suspended and she was placed on five-years probation. In March, Stoneking admitted violation to her probation and a disposition hearing was set for May 5. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.
