News Release for May 12-19, 2014

 

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to several calls for service during the week of May 12-19. Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies apprehended suspect wanted in a murder investigation, took reports of stealing, and made several felony warrant arrests.

Suspect in murder investigation apprehended in St. Clair County

On Sunday morning, May 18, a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputy apprehended a male suspect wanted in a murder investigation in Camdenton. The deputy was traveling on Highway 82 near Tiffin and noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect. A traffic stop was initiated; the suspect was identified and taken into custody. Other deputies and troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrived on scene to assist. The suspect’s vehicle was taken as evidence and towed to Camden County. The suspect was transported to the St. Clair County Jail and later turned over to law enforcement from Camden County.

Two Cub Cadet lawn mowers reported stolen in Appleton City

On May 17, a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to East Sixth Street, Appleton City, regarding a stealing. Kyle Sampson reported a 16 foot flat bed trailer and a Cub Cadet 60 inch zero turn lawn mower was stolen from his property. He estimated the value of the items at $10,700.

Later on May 17, a deputy responded to the Hickory Court Apartments, Appleton City, in reference to a stealing. Clarence Barnett reported his Cub Cadet lawn mower was stolen. The information in the cases was turned over to the Appleton City Police Department.

Arrest for felony abuse of a child

On May 14, Steven Patrick, 57, El Dorado Springs, was arrested by St. Clair County deputies after an investigation of felony child abuse that allegedly occurred at a residence in the southwest area of the county on May 12. The investigation revealed Patrick allegedly struck a 15-year-old juvenile in the face several times.

On May 15, two complaints were filed with the court by St. Clair County Prosecuting Attorney Joleene Simmons in reference to this incident and another incident that allegedly occurred in August 2013. Arrest warrants were issued and served charging Patrick with two class C felonies of abuse or neglect of a child. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety in each case.

Other felony warrant arrests

On May 15, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Lewis Younce, 38, and Mandy Younce, 34, both of Osceola, on St. Clair County felony warrants. Both individuals were booked into the St. Clair County Jail and charged with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. The charges stems from an Osceola Police Department case on April 16. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety on each individual.

On May 15, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Stacy Vasquez, 41, Osceola, on a St. Clair County felony warrant charging her with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. The charge stems from an Osceola Police Department case on April 6. Bond is set at $10,00 cash or surety.

On May 13, Vernard Tucker, 44, Lowry City, was arrested in Osceola on a felony probation violation warrant. Tucker is on probation after pleading guilty in November 2009 to class C felony statutory rape in the second degree. The charge stemmed from

an incident in November 2008. Bond is set at $1,500 cash only.

On May 13, Sandra Marconi, 43, Collins, was arrested in Osceola on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on class D felony excessive blood alcohol content-persistent offender. The warrant was issued on May 9. The charge stems from an incident in March 2012. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

Stolen shotgun reported

On May 13, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Christopher Hawes, Lowry City, in reference to a stolen shotgun. Hawes stated his shotgun, a Mossberg 500A, 12 gauge pump, 28" Accu-choke, fiber optic front and rear sights, and a camouflage sling, was stolen from his 1999 Mercury Mountaineer. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest warrant issued

On May 16, two arrest warrants were issued for Michael Oberly, 37, Appleton City, charging him with two class C felony theft/stealing.  The charges stem from an incident on March 22 when George "Craig" Siegismund and Gary Cook reported they each had hog feeders stolen. Siegismund reported he had two feeders stolen and Cook reported he had four feeders stolen from a piece property on SW 1301 Road. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety in each case.

On May 16, an arrest warrant was issued for John King, 24, Hampton, Va., charging him with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. The charge stems from a drug investigation on April 22 at a residence on TT Highway. St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers from the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in King’s residence. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

On May 16, arrest warrants were issued for Zachary Harper, 25, Kansas City, and Robert Foster, 31, Osceola, charging them each with a class C felony of theft/stealing. The charges stems from an incident on April 15 at property on SE V Highway owned by Jack Foster. Foster reported an individual in a Dodge Dakota truck pulling a small trailer was seen stealing scrap from his property. Evidence was located at the scene and the investigation discovered the suspect vehicle was located at Meredith Recycling, Montrose. Contact was made with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and a deputy was dispatched to the location to stop and hold the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with Harper and Foster in the vehicle. Items were recovered, identified and released to Foster.

On May 16, an arrest warrant was issued for Jason Long, 36, Collins, charging him with class C felony domestic assault-second degree. The charge stems from an incident on May 11 when a deputy responded to a domestic disturbance at Mike’s Tow Company, Collins. The investigation revealed Long allegedly struck a female victim in the face. He was booked and released the same day of the incident pending formal charges. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

On May 13, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Ronald Noble, 44, Independence, for failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor of non support. Noble was charged in December 2011. Bond is set at 1,500 cash only.
