        Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made 12 arrests and took reports of stealing during the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 3.

Warrant arrests

Mark Prater

            Mark Prater- On Feb. 6, Mark Prater, 47, Rockville, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Johnson County warrant charging class C felony possession of a controlled substance, class D felony resisting arrest, and an unclassified misdemeanor of driving while revoked. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on Jan. 18 and stems from a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Aug. 3, 2016.

Micky Kottwitz

           

            Micky Kottwitz- On Feb. 5, Micky Kottwitz, 41, Weaubleau, was arrested on Coon Creek Street, Collins, on a St. Clair County felony warrant. The warrant was for probation violation on an original class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on Jan. 27 and bond is set at $2,500 cash only.             The original charge stems from an investigation on Aug. 28, 2015 at a residence on NE 471 Road, Osceola. During the investigation, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force discovered a soda can that field test positive methamphetamine in Kottwitz’s possession.

            Kottwitz was also arrested on a Henry County felony warrant. The warrant was for probation violation on an original class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on Jan. 27 and bond is set at $2,500 cash only. The original charge stems from an investigation on Jan. 1, 2015.

Shawna Kalberloh

          Shawna Kalberloh- On Feb. 4, Shawna Kalberloh, 45, Green Ridge, was arrested on a St. Clair County felony warrant. The warrant was for probation violation on an original class C felony charge of possessing a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on Jan. 11 and bond is set at $5,000 cash only.             The original charges stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Jan. 16, 2014 when deputies along with members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force were at a residence on NE 700 Road, Lowry City, where Kalberloh was residing. She was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Mark Iwanski

           Mark Iwanski- On Feb. 3, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Mark Iwanski, 60, Ord, Neb., on a St. Clair County warrant charging him three felony counts and two misdemeanor counts. Iwanski is charged with two class D felony counts of possessing a controlled substance, a class E felony unlawful use of weapon-subsection 11-possess weapon and a felony controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and a class A misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia- prior drug offense. The charges stem from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Feb. 2. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

Woodrow Gray

           Woodrow Gray- On Feb. 3, Woodrow Gray, 44, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class D felony possession of a controlled substance and class D misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Bond is set at $10,.000 cash or surty.

            The charges stem from an investigation the previous day when a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Gray was driving on Highway 82 near Roscoe. Members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force assisted deputies with the investigation and a small clear bag with a white powdery substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine was located along with a misdemeanor amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

            Further investigation led to a search warrant being obtained for Gray’s residence on NW 601 Road, Appleton City. While the warrant was being served deputies located a large quantity of methamphetamine, a misdemeanor amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and a large sum of cash in his residence. Additional formal charges are expected.

Brandi Walker

             Brandi Walker- On Feb. 2, Brandi Walker, 37, Springfield, was arrested in St. Clair County on a no bond Green County warrant for probation violation on two original class C felony counts of forgery. The arrest came after a St. Clair County deputy was informed of a vehicle that was driving in a careless manner traveling south on Highway 13 approaching Osceola. The vehicle was located and it was swerving from side to side in its own lane. A vehicle stop was conducted and contact was made with Walker, the driver. She gave the deputy false information regarding her identity.

            During the investigation Walker’s true identity was discovered. She had a revoked Missouri driver’s license and the warrant. Information was also learned she was allegedly involved in a robbery in Iowa earlier in the day and wanted for questioning.

            Further investigation discovered drug paraphernalia and a metal spoon inside the vehicle. Walker was taken into custody on the warrant and other formal charges from the incident are pending.

Teri Olson

           Teri Olson- On February 2, Teri Olson, 45, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with class D felony possession of a controlled substance and class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at 10,000 cash or surety.

            The charges stem from an investigation the previous day when St. Clair County deputies and members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdictional Drug Task Force received information in reference to illegal drugs in a vehicle parked on public property on the Osceola square. During the investigation digital scales with a white powdery substance were located. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Other items of drug paraphernalia were also located during the investigation.

Shane Stewart

               Shane Stewart- On Feb. 1, Shane Stewart, 37, Jerico Springs, on a St. Clair County warrant revoking his $30,000 cash or surety bond. His new bond is set at $75,000 cash only. He is charged with class B felony distribution/ delivery/ manufacture/ produce a controlled substance, class C felony possession of a controlled substance, class C felony unlawful possession of a firearm, class D felony unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and class A misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

            The original charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Oct. 27 when a narcotics search warrant was executed at a camper located in Twin Oaks Harbor, Lowry City. During a search of the residence several items of contraband were located throughout the camper. Items included a crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, several new plastic bags, and digital scales.

             Andrew Collins- On Feb. 1, Andrew Collins, 27, Springfield, was arrested at a residence on B Highway, Osceola, on a no bond probation violation warrant from Greene County. The warrant was issued on Jan. 27. Collins is on probation for class D felony unlawful use of a weapon and class A misdemeanor resisting arrest stemming from a Springfield Police Department investigation in December 2011.

           

            Christian Reynolds- On Jan. 31, Christian Reynolds, 21, Platte City, was arrested on several St. Clair warrants for failing to appear in court. Reynolds is charged with

unclassified misdemeanor driving while revoked, class B misdemeanor exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 miles-per-hour or more, class B misdemeanor failure to register a motor vehicle, class C misdemeanor failing to drive within right lane of highway with two or more lanes in the same direction, and an infraction of no seat belt. Total bond is set at $1,785 cash only.

           

            Justin Stewart- On Jan. 31, Justin Stewart, 28, Bolivar, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with two felony and seven misdemeanor counts stemming from a St. Clair County investigation the previous day when he failed to yield to law enforcement while operating 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 636 motorcycle.

Stewart is charged with class D felony possession of a controlled substance, class E felony resisting arrest by fleeing, class A misdemeanor failing to yield to emergency vehicle sounding siren and displaying red/blue light, class A misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident, class B misdemeanor exceeded posted speed limit by 26 miles per-hour, class D misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, class D possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana, class D misdemeanor operating a motorcycle when driver's license not validated for such operation, and class D misdemeanor no insurance. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only.

            During the evening hours on Jan. 30 deputies received information the motorcycle failed to yield to law enforcement in Polk County and evaded them. A deputy staged at Pilot Travel Center, Collins, located a motorcycle matching the description traveling north on Highway 13 south of SE 1000 Road. The operator of motorcycle turned east on SE 1000 Road and crossed the double yellow lines. Emergency lights and sirens were activated and the motorcycle refused to yield and sped up reaching speeds of approximately 130 miles-per-hour. The motorcycle attempted to turn east on Coon Creek Street and wrecked.

            A deputy accompanied Stewart and a female, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, in an ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. During the transport Stewart was found to in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The paraphernalia consisted of syringes, a pipe, and a spoon which field tested positive for methamphetamines.         Stewart was checked at the hospital and later released and transported to the St. Clair County Jail pending the formal charges. The female was arrested at the hospital by another agency on no bond probation violation warrants.

           Richard Foster- On Jan. 31, Richard Foster, 31, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class A misdemeanor theft/stealing. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

            The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on July 27, 2016 when a deputy took a stealing report at Ellett Memorial Hospital, Appleton City. An employee, Bruce Goddard, reported a Samsung Galaxy Tab-4, 10.1 with black case stolen from a desk he had been sitting at. The tablet was estimated at $500.

Arrest warrants issued

            James Sprinkle (No photo)- On Feb. 2, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for James Sprinkle, 27, Joplin, charging him with class D felony non support. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

          Daniel Byrd- On Jan. 31, two St. Clair County warrants were issued for Daniel Byrd, 35, Forsyth, charging him with probation violations on original class C felony charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance. Total bond is set at $5,000 cash only.          

            The original tampering charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation in April 2014 when a deputy was dispatched to take a report of a stolen vehicle on SE 400 Road, Collins. Richard Tucker reported a red 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 was stolen. He stated the truck was in his front yard between his house and barn on April 4, around 2 p.m. He noticed the vehicle missing on April 6. Tucker advised a .357 magnum lever action rifle valued at $450, a 455 Husqvarna chainsaw valued at $400 and some miscellaneous tools valued at $1,000 were in the truck. 

            A request for prosecution form was signed and approximately a week later, the sheriff’s office was notified the Independence Police Department recovered the vehicle in Jackson County. Trailer reported stolen

            On Feb. 2, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Vernon Putnum in reference to a a trailer missing from his property on NE 471 Road, Osceola. Putnum described the trailer as a 16 foot tandem axle 1996 MORI flatbed trailer with a wooden bed. The value of the trailer was estimated at $2,500. He noted the owner of the trailer is Patsy Brownlee.

 

Truck stolen from Lakeland School. Recovered in Oklahoma

            On Jan. 31, a St. Clair County deputy took a report at Lakeland High School in reference to a stolen vehicle. Chyann Maples reported her pickup truck was stolen while she was attending a basketball game at the school. The truck was described as a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Quad Cab 4x4. It was metallic gold with a black flat bed and black front push bar. The truck had after market wheels that were black with aluminum colored spokes. The investigation discovered the truck drove over parking barriers and across the grass while leaving the school property. 
             On Feb. 6, an officer from the Grove Police Department, Oklahoma, contacted the sheriff’s office stating the vehicle was recovered at store in their jurisdiction.

 

Trailer stolen in Appleton City located in Kansas City

            On Jan. 31, a St. Clair County deputy received information a trailer reported stolen in Appleton City was recovered by the Kansas City Police Department. On Jan. 24, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from Terry Powell in reference to a 2016 Rice brand 18-foot flatbed trailer stolen from a lot west of his True Value store on West Fourth Street, Appleton City. It was learned the trailer was recovered after an individual called to check a vehicle identification number on a trailer they were about to purchase.
